AC Milan fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Atalanta on Serie A matchday 33. Éderson scored the winner for a clinical Atalanta at San Siro on Easter Sunday. The Rossoneri failed to capitalise on the big win in Udine, with the same team that started in Friuli. Conceição's side suffered very little at the back - just the one save from Maignan - but didn't create as much as they did last time out.
Plenty of generosity and solidity didn't give the Rossoneri the result they wanted in front of the 70,000 fans in attendance at San Siro. They remain rooted in the table, still a way off the European spots with just five games to go. AC Milan will need to move on from this disappointment because we're back in action on Wednesday. Also at San Siro, we have the fifth derby of the season, though this one has a Cup final berth up for grabs after the 1-1 draw in the first leg. Forza ragazzi!

MATCH REPORT It was a slow start to the match as both teams looked to figure each other out. As the minutes ticked by, the visitors tried to take control of proceedings without, however, creating any clear-cut chances. The first effort of the game came from Éderson, whose header finished wide of Maignan’s goal (20’), as did Retegui’s volley in the 25th minute. The Rossoneri looked to threaten down the left, but Theo and Leão were often caught in offside positions. Before the break, Retegui sent a header over the bar (35’) and, most notably, Jović turned and fired wide from a great position on the 44-minute mark.
The second half kicked off with the same players on the pitch and a nice ball over the top for Reijnders, whose cross was cut out by de Roon. AC Milan were looking livelier as an angled drive from Leão was deflected behind. Just as the Rossoneri were enjoying their best spell of the game, Atalanta took the lead through Éderson, who finished off a fine team move in the 62nd minute. The Rossoneri tried to respond, but the away side came close to doubling their advantage through Tolói (71’) and then Retegui (74’). Coach Conceição opted for a triple change, after which attempts from Reijnders and João Félix were blocked by the visiting defence. Chukwueze and Gimenez also entered the fray as the Diavolo pushed forward, but the scoreline remained the same. Maignan kept out a shot from Lookman (90’), and, in stoppage time, the last effort of the match came from Reijnders, who failed to keep it down. It finished 1-0 to Atalanta.
