AC Milan have reportedly opened negotiations with Arsenal over a move for defender Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The 28-year-old came close to leaving the Gunners in January and Corriere Dello Sport say a deal is within reach for the Italian side.

Fellow defender Riccardo Calafiori looks set to stay with the club, however.

The Italian endured a frustrating first season with the Gunners due to injury and has been linked with a move away, but told Gianluca Di Marzio: “At Arsenal, I’m very happy.

“I always feel good in any position I play in order to help the team. What was missing last season was consistency and I’ll look to find that consistency next season.

“When I felt good, I always played and made a difference in the team. So the goal next season is to be in form for the whole season.”

Meanwhile, Portuguese outlet Record say Arsenal have been put off by the price tag for Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres and will instead prefer signing Ollie Watkins or Benjamin Sesko.

Elsewhere, the Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Florian Wirtz will fly to the UK this week to complete his move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen.

Full-back Adrien Truffert’s move to Bournemouth is also expected to pave the way for Milos Kerkez to join Liverpool, Sky Sports say, though they say that there is yet to be a formal bid.

Sky Sports report that Manchester United have held initial talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over the signing of striker Hugo Ekitike.

They reportedly face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea, however.

Corriere Dello Sport say United have decided to keep Joshua Zirkzee at the club, though Rasmus Hojlund is a target for Inter Milan.

The Mail say United are demanding a £70m fee for Alejandro Garnacho, who has interest from Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham, with the Argentine keen to stay in the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano claims Bournemouth defender Ilya Zabarnyi is set to move to PSG.

And Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says he expects the club to sign a winger this summer, saying: “Jadon [Sancho] is not with us, so for sure that is a position we need to do something about.

“We have Noni [Madueke], Pedro [Neto] and [Tyrique George] only as the proper wingers, so something for sure is going to happen. When the transfer window is open, for sure, we can do something.”
