Former Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos has made the trip to the city of Seville, to open negotiations over a potential reunion with Real Betis.

Midfielder Ceballos is for his part currently available as a free agent. Not in the plans of incoming head coach José Mourinho following a season on the bench in Spain’s capital, Real Madrid made the call to terminate the 29-year-old’s contract a year early.

Still held in high regard across Spain and beyond, Ceballos has in turn been linked with a whole host of clubs from across the continent.

One club, though, has consistently stood out above all others.

Hopeful of seeing their long-term efforts to bring the former Arsenal man back to Seville once and for all bear fruit, the aforementioned Real Betis have over the last couple of weeks made their interest in a joining of forces clear to Ceballos’ entourage.

And this concerted push will culminate in crunch talks between the two parties over the days ahead.

As revealed by transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano, after Ceballos made known his desire to ‘feel important’ at his next club, the Spaniard arrived for contract negotiations with Real Betis on Friday.
