Roma’s new second-choice keeper, Devis Vasquez, gave his first interview to the club.
“I think Roma is a great team on a world-class level. I think every player who asks to come here should be happy, me too right now. I think I have to give it my all, prove it every training session, and maybe take the opportunity to play a match, even more.”
“Three days after I left Milan I was happy when I heard that Roma were asking for me.”
“Massara? He had brought me to Milan together with Maldini. Hearing from him that he was asking about me, that there was this opportunity to come here to Roma, I think it was great news. I thank the president and the directors who gave me this opportunity. I think I demonstrate my ability every day.”
“This is a great opportunity, and I’ve joined a big club, a club of champions. I think I’ll help the team as much as I can and do what I can.”
“Gasperini? He did very well at Atalanta. I’m happy to join a team with a manager who helps players express what’s inside them.”
“Svilar? I’ve been following him for a long time, when he was at Benfica. I think he improved a lot when he came here with the trainer Farelli. I think he can also help me develop many things that need work.”
“The fans? I was already there once last year when we played against Roma. My first impression when I stepped onto the pitch was incredible, impressive. I really enjoyed it. I’ve joined a very strong team. The passion of the fans and the people is so evident even when you play for another team.”
