Harry Kane scored a second half hat-trick to secure Bayern Munich’s 21st DFB Pokal win after overcoming a resilient VfB Stuttgart side. It took the Englishman’s tally to 61 goals in 52 games across all competitions as Vincent Kompany’s side completed a domestic double after Saturday’s 3-0 victory.

“This was definitely one of the best nights of my career,” explained Kane. “I was incredibly excited for this final. I’d heard so much about it from many players who had already experiences this final with the club.”

Scoring his first of the night via Michael Olise’s inch perfect assist, Kane added: “I wanted to make the team proud and I wanted to make the fans proud. And to then score a hat-trick in a final, it was just a very special game and a very special feeling.”

Kane then scored arguably one of the best goals of his career seconds after smashing the ball off the crossbar, with a superb touch, spin and finish into the bottom corner before converting a penalty in stoppage time to complete his hat-trick.

“It’s been a long and tough season,” he said. “To finish it like this is perfect.”
