Bologna director of sport Marco Di Vaio insists ‘there have been no official’ approaches for Dan Ndoye and they are discussing a new contract with the Napoli and Nottingham Forest target.

The winger had a strong couple of seasons at the Stadio Dall’Ara, which earned him a great deal of attention from several clubs.

It was no secret that Napoli were interested, but today Sky Sport Italia announced that Nottingham Forest had dived in and agreed personal terms with the player too.

When Bologna director Di Vaio spoke to reporters at a gala dinner this evening, he was naturally asked about these reports.

“The lad is appreciated, but there have been no official bids from any club,” assured the chief.

“We are also talking to him about the possibility of extending and improving his current contract, and he is open to the idea. What we want is to maintain the structure of the squad, modifying it as little as possible.”

Ndoye not the only issue for Bologna

There are some changes, because Sam Beukema has begun his medical tests for a €30m transfer to Napoli, but Bologna are otherwise hoping to keep their most talented players.

They are also looking for further reinforcements after securing Ciro Immobile and Federico Bernardeschi as free agents.

“I spoke to both Ciro and Federico, I told them what I experienced here and what the likes of Beppe Signori, Roberto Baggio and Alberto Gilardino felt here. It is a city that gives strikers so much.”

It is reported the Rossoblu are on the verge of a deal with Milan to bring back Tommaso Pobega following his loan experience, again on loan with an obligation to buy for a total €8m.

“Pobega is an idea, we know him well and he knows the coach well, so we are discussing the possibility with Milan of taking him back home definitively,” confirmed Di Vaio.
