Real Madrid's rivals often deride how they are awarded penalties with incredible ease.
But the claim may not be as clear-cut as previously suggested after Álvaro Arbeloa's side took on Real Betis in LaLiga's opening game of the weekend on Friday night.
The visitors took an early lead at La Cartuja courtesy of Vinícius Júnior's opener and had grounds for a potential second with an apparent handball in the area.
A shot by Brahim Díaz struck the arm of Ricardo Rodríguez inside the area yet VAR deemed that there was not sufficient contact in the passage of play for a spot kick.
