Divisive Liverpool star might STAY after all

Liverpool may keep hold of one star after all, despite strong reports of his exit. A new offer changes everything.

Liverpool are looking to move on quite a few players this summer as part of a major overhaul. Anfield Watch first reported that was the plan back in February - now we're seeing what it looks like.

Jeremie Frimpong has come in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Caoimhin Kelleher has moved out. Armin Pecsi arrived as a goalkeeper, though the Irishman's place will actually be taken by Giorgi Mamardashvili, signed last summer.

We're going to see changes up top, too. Darwin Nunez is almost certain to leave Liverpool, while Luis Diaz, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota are all linked with moves away. Centre-back, too, could see exits - Ibrahima Konate is entering the final year of his contract, while neither Joe Gomez nor Jarell Quansah were able to find consistent football last season.

There's one interesting position, however: left-back. What looked like an absolute certainty now looks like a major question.

Could Kostas Tsimikas now stay?

Liverpool's left-backs

Liverpool want Milos Kerkez and everything points to them completing a deal for him very shortly. The player has already accepted the move and the Reds have been pushing for a move since at least November.

Now, it's always been clear that Tsimikas would be the one to depart to make way for Kerkez. It's been reported to be the case, too. The Hungary international is a young player, after all, and you'd want Andy Robertson around for two reasons.

Firstly, as an experienced option alongside Kerkez - someone you can rely on while the new signing gets up to speed. But also just in case the arrival doesn't live up to expectations. You never know.

However, it now seems that Robertson could leave. Fabrizio Romano is one of many reporting that Atletico Madrid would like to sign the Scot this summer and see him as their priority left-back.
