Artem Dovbyk, who Leeds United are keen on, ‘doesn’t seem convinced’ about leaving Roma this summer, despite the Giallorossi actively looking to sell him.

Strengthening the forward department was one of the top priorities for Leeds in the ongoing window, but now with less than three weeks remaining before it closes, they are desperate to bring in a forward.

Mateo Joseph’s departure to Mallorca has further complicated the situation, leaving a gap in the striker department with their campaign set to begin next week.

Leeds were dealt a blow in their pursuit of their top forward target Rodrigo Muniz when the player expressed his desire to join Atalanta.

The Italian market is where Leeds have done serious looking for a new striker and they have been tracking Roma’s Dovbyk.

Recently Leeds firmed up their interest in Dovbyk, following disappointments in other chases.

Roma are ready to sell the Ukrainian, who they signed from Girona last summer, and they want a fee in the region of €30m to avoid ‘capital losses’.

However, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Dovbyk ‘doesn’t seem convinced’ about leaving Roma.

Several clubs have shown interest in Dovbyk but the Trigoria outfit have not received any concrete offer for the 28-year-old so far.

The Roman outfit want to bring in Leece’s Nikola Krstovic, a player Leeds also wanted but were turned down by.

Now it is up to Leeds to convince Dovbyk on a move before they proceed with a bid.

The Yorkshire giants are also working on a deal for Inter Milan’s Mehdi Taremi, but their fellow Premier League outfit Fulham are pushing for him.
