New Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma says he wants to “make history” with his new side.
The Italian shot-stopper completed his move to City from PSG on the final day of the transfer window.
And discussing his move to the Premier League, the 26-year-old said: “I am fully focused on my new challenge here now to make history here and become a symbol for the city and for the club.
“But most of all to make the fans proud and win a lot of trophies together as it’s a historic club and deserves to be as high as possible.
“I’m proud to be here and happy about the choice I’ve made, and I hope I will make history here and win as many trophies as possible, that is my goal.”
Donnarumma helped PSG to a treble last season before being replaced by Lucas Chevalier, and says he has always thought about a move to City in the future.
“It’s a club that has always fascinated me,” he said. “I’ve always followed it [City] with pleasure. I see everything around me like the training centre and the stadium, they are fantastic.
“You can’t tell what the club values until you really see it with your own eyes. The buildings and the staff here are fantastic.
“I came here with all my family and for my first day at the club and my first emotions are that it looks like a real family.
“Everyone is smiling and I’m just happy and proud and I can’t wait this new adventure.”
