Dorival Júnior wants six more signings at Corinthians after four arrivals and eight exits, to sustain a squad competing on five fronts this year.
According to Globo.com, targets include a centre-back to replace João Pedro Tchoca, left-back cover for Matheus Bidu, midfield help after the Alisson setback, and attacking options.
After the 2-1 loss to Bahia at Vila Belmiro in the Brasileirão opener, Dorival said five or six additions are needed and acknowledged gaps in the squad. He said they sounded out Malcom and Gerson but accepted those moves are beyond their current budget.
Cash flow issues mean limited spending. The Alisson loan stalled over costs, with São Paulo seeking R$ one million up front and R$500,000 later, plus R$1,500,000 if he played at least 45 minutes in 20 or more games.
This year they have added centre-back Gabriel Paulista, midfielder Matheus Pereira and right-back Pedro Milans, with forward Kaio César the fourth to be announced. Striker Pedro Raul has returned from loan and rejoined the squad.
Departures include Héctor Hernández, Ángel Romero, Talles Magno, Fabrizio Angileri, Ryan, Maycon, Tchoca and Félix Torres.
Fagner has signed permanently for Cruzeiro after terminating his deal. Alex Santana and Renato have returned from loans but are training apart from the group.
