Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly monitoring Rangers centre-back Emmanuel Fernandez after a standout first season in Scotland.
The Daily Record reports that Leverkusen are showing interest in the 24-year-old. Following Niklas Süle’s retirement, Dortmund are considering the defender as a potential replacement.
Both clubs tracked him during the winter transfer window but made no official approach. His recent performances are said to have strengthened their belief in the Nigerian international.
Fernandez joined Rangers last summer and has established himself as a first-choice pick. His resolute tackling, vision and aerial strength stand out.
He has scored five goals in 22 league appearances, highlighting his set-piece threat.
Rangers signed him from English League One side Peterborough for three million euros, and his contract runs until 2029.
Right-footed and on several scouting lists across Europe, he is likely to have increased his transfer value.
