Douglas Luiz has been recalled by Juventus, ending his Nottingham Forest loan after five months at the City Ground.

The club said in a statement that the Brazilian had departed, having made 14 appearances in all competitions since joining in August.

His agreement contained a conditional obligation to buy, to be triggered by 15 league outings of 45 minutes or more, for a reported £22million.

Hampered by injury, the 27-year-old played eight Premier League matches for Forest, three of them from the bench.

His final appearance came in Portugal last week, starting against Braga before being withdrawn with a little over 20 minutes left in a 1-0 Europa League defeat.

He was left out of the matchday squad on Sunday as Forest beat Brentford 2-0 to bolster their survival bid.

He had been due to spend the 2025/26 season on loan and it was hoped he could be a key figure. Chelsea showed interest earlier this month, and a return to former club Aston Villa is on the cards.
