‘Dummies’ – Barcelona face heavy criticism from Premier League icon | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have this week come in for a heavy round of criticism on the part of England and Premier League legend Alan Shearer.

This comes owing to the defensive effort put forth by the Blaugrana in their recent meeting with Chelsea.

Hansi Flick’s troops of course made the trip to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, for a Champions League clash.

When all was said and done in England’s capital, Barca found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 3-0 result, which could easily have been worse.

Many were quick to take aim at the reigning Spanish champions for the level of their performance, with Chelsea having time and time again sliced through their opponents’ backline with ease.

And as alluded to above, front and centre amongst such critics was Alan Shearer.

Speaking as part of his punditry role for Amazon Prime (as cited by the Daily Mail), Premier League all-time top goalscorer Shearer vented:

”They keep on getting done time and time again. Nothing more than Chelsea deserve. They time it to perfection again.

”I’ve seen some offside traps in my time, but this is absolutely crazy. It really is.

”It’s as if there’s four dummies just stood there and saying “how do you want to do it guys?”. It’s hard to believe at times, I’m lost for words at how easy it’s been for Chelsea to get through and how crazy at times they’re playing it.”
