Durham announce midfielder Lambert’s departure | OneFootball

Durham midfielder Mollie Lambert is leaving the club this summer.

The Wildcats announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

The 28-year-old midfielder has spent her entire career to date playing her football in her native North East. Lambert enjoyed spells with Middlesbrough and Sunderland in the early days of her career before joining Durham in 2020. Since making the move to Maiden Castle, Lambert has made 157 appearances in which she has scored 23 goals. She is seventh position in the list of all-time top appearance-makers for Durham.

The midfielder has been one of the most consistent performers in the Durham side over the last six years. She was influential as Durham ran Leicester City close for promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2020/2021 while Lambert also impressed in the side that finished in fourth place in 2024/2025. The player has constantly set the standards high and has led by example on the pitch. She is very much a legend of the Durham side given her contribution to the club over the last six years.

Lambert is reportedly leaving Durham to pursue a fresh opportunity elsewhere in the game. Her next career move is not yet known.
