Dutch keeper Marco Bizot joins Villa from Brest | OneFootball

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot from French side Stade Brest.

The 34-year-old arrives as a direct replacement for Robin Olsen, who departed Villa Park at the end of June when his contract came to an end.

Bizot, who came through the ranks at Ajax, enjoyed a solid campaign with Brest last season, racking up 41 appearances in all competitions - including nine in the Champions League. He played a key role in their strong campaign, keeping 12 clean sheets along the way.

With just a year left on his deal in France, Villa have moved quickly to secure the Dutchman’s services. Bizot has one senior cap for the Netherlands, having made his debut in a friendly against Spain back in November 2020.

He becomes Villa’s second signing of the summer window, following the arrival of Zépiqueno Redmond on a free transfer after the young forward left Feyenoord.
