Eberl on Real Madrid clash: "A beast that knows when to strike is coming for us" | OneFootball

With Bayern Munich set to play the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid on Tuesday, Max Eberl is approaching the tie with caution.

“Even though things weren't perfect for Real for a while this season, a beast that knows when to strike is coming for us," Bayern's director of sport told TZ München.

"We have to be ready for exactly that. What we've achieved this season gives us a good feeling. But Real Madrid aren't the record Champions League winner for nothing.

"They can conjure up a special magic in moments like these. Nevertheless, we're confident enough to say it's a 50-50 game. 

“We've already shown against big opponents this season that we'll stay true to ourselves. We know Real's quality – and most of all, we know our own,” Eberl added. 

It's safe to say the 52-year-old is aware of the threats posed by the Galacticos – the same can't be said for fellow Bayern chief Uli Hoeneß who took a swipe at the Spanish club in March.
