Eddie Howe has called speculation linking Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon with an exit 'irrelevant'.
Gordon has been linked with a potential transfer this summer with severalPremier League rivals reportedly keen on a deal.
Arsenal are the latest team credited with interest in the England international, while both Manchester United and Liverpool have been named as suitors.
Gordon has scored a career-high 14 goals in all competitions this season, including 10 in the Champions League. Only Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe hasoutscored the 25-year-old in the Champions League so far this season.
Newcastle have faced strong interest in their top talent in recent windows. Last summer, Alexander Isak joined Liverpool in a £125m British transfer record deal after a long saga, while Sandro Tonali's future has been in the headlines in recent weeks.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, ahead of facing Everton this weekend, Howe said he pays no attention to the transfer rumours surrounding his squad.
The 48-year-old said he has not seen the stories linking Gordon with a move, but backed the winger to handle the speculation that 'comes with the territory of being a top player.'
"I don’t see probably 90% of it. It comes with the territory of being a top player. You have got to put it out of your brain and focus on the football." Howe said to the media on Friday.
"I have not seen the story, so it is news to me. It is sort of your industry creating those stories. I am slightly secluded to it – if you don’t read it, you don’t know who is being linked with who.
"I think it is irrelevant really – it is how the players react to that. I think they will become robust enough to ignore it and concentrate on playing."
