Eddie Howe has moved swiftly to end speculation linking him with the Manchester United job, insisting he remains “100 per cent” committed to Newcastle United.
With pressure mounting on Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford following a poor start to the season, Howe’s name has once again surfaced as a potential successor.
Speaking ahead of Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures, Howe dismissed the rumours and emphasised his focus on the project at St James’ Park. “My commitment here is I’m all in. I’m 100 per cent here, I always have been,” Howe said, as reported by Sky Sports. “My family is still here, we’re fighting every day to try to make a success of what we’re doing. The season ahead could be a wonderful thing, and that’s really what I want to focus on.”
Howe has been instrumental in Newcastle’s resurgence since replacing Steve Bruce in November 2021, shortly after the club’s Saudi-backed takeover. Under his stewardship, the Magpies avoided relegation, secured Champions League qualification for the second time in three years, and ended a 70-year wait for major silverware by lifting the Carabao Cup last season.
Newcastle will face Nottingham Forest at home on Sunday as they return to Premier League action.
