Ederson completes first Manchester United tests, ‘to undergo’ more on Friday, decision 10 July

Ederson began Manchester United medical checks today. A final decision on the €45m move is due on 10 July after further testing.

Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano report that the Atalanta midfielder completed the first tranche of assessments with United staff today, and will undergo additional examinations on Friday.

The transfer was agreed last month, with United set to pay €40.5m in fixed fees plus €4.5m in bonuses, subject to medical clearance.

Full tests were delayed because he was at the 2026 World Cup with Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil. Initial checks took place in America with the national-team camp.

Doctors requested follow-up testing, prompting this week’s programme. Atalanta are confident there are no significant issues, because otherwise he would have been sent home from the Brazil camp at the World Cup.
