The EFL has confirmed summer and winter transfer window dates for 2026/27, with Wolves, West Brom and Walsall planning their business.

The summer window opens on Monday, June 15 and closes on Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm. The deadline has reverted to 11pm after this season's 7pm cut-off.

Clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two have two-and-a-half months to trade. Deals can be unveiled before opening day, but league approval and registrations only take effect once it begins.

The winter window runs from Friday, January 1 to Monday, February 1, with an 11pm deadline.

Wolves and Albion will face each other in the Championship next term after Wolves' relegation from the Premier League. Rob Edwards and James Morrison are set to assemble squads in search of improvement.

Wolves finished bottom after a miserable campaign and could not overcome second-bottom Burnley on the final day to climb to 19th. Albion narrowly avoided the drop to League One.

Morrison, appointed caretaker in late February, kept them up despite a late EFL two-point penalty and has now been appointed on a permanent basis.

Walsall have turned to Lee Grant as head coach after Mat Sadler was dismissed before season's end. Darren Byfield finished the campaign as caretaker, with the club 13th.
