The Egyptian national team have been hit with 2 major injury concerns in midfield on the eve of their crucial 2026 World cup qualifier against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou.
Egypt only need victory on Tuesday to secure direct qualification to the World cup with 2 match still to spare.
The Pharaohs currently lead Group A with 19 point, 5 clear of second placed Burkina Faso.
Team director Ibrahim Hassan confirmed that Hamdy Fathi will miss the trip after suffering foot injury in the win over Ethiopia. Despite immediate scans & medical checks, the decision was made to rest him.
Meanwhile Mohanad Lasheen who replaced Fathy against Ethiopia, is struggling with recurring back injury. His participation remains uncertain with the medical staff working to get him fit in time.
The Pharaohs travel to Burkina Faso knowing win will seal their World cup ticket & silence doubts despite injury setbacks in midfield.
