Arnaud Kalimuendo could be on the move in January as head coach Sean Dyche takes his first chance to tweak his squad, with Eintracht Frankfurt among the leading suitors after limited minutes at Nottingham Forest.
Sky Sports Germany reports that a pathway has opened for a move to Frankfurt, who want to bolster their attack and view the 23-year-old as an option. Forest are said to be aware of the interest and willing to let him leave, with a loan viewed as the likeliest route.
Paris FC, Roma and VfB Stuttgart have also been linked. Jeunes Footeux claims West Ham United have joined the chase. Nuno Espirito Santo gave Kalimuendo a five-year deal in August at Forest and now manages the Hammers, raising the prospect of a reunion.
The £26 million signing arrived from Rennes in the summer and has made 13 appearances in all competitions, only three from the off, and he is yet to start in the Premier League. He has two Europa League goals.
Forest must weigh up their forward line before any exit. Chris Wood remains sidelined into the new year after knee surgery, Taiwo Awoniyi could head elsewhere amid his own lack of minutes, and Igor Jesus has cemented a starting berth. In Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, Kalimuendo was unused as Awoniyi came on ahead of him.
