Manchester City said they have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson for 135 million euros, a record fee for an English player.
The 23-year-old is at the World Cup with England and is a starter. His medical was carried out in Kansas, where the squad are based.
The sum exceeds the 127 million euros Real Madrid paid Dortmund for Jude Bellingham. It is the third highest fee in Premier League history, behind Alexander Isak at 150 million and Florian Wirtz at 136 million when both joined Liverpool last summer.
The England international has 13 caps and made 50 appearances for Forest in all competitions last season.
Anderson becomes the first signing of the Enzo Maresca era, after Maresca succeeded Pep Guardiola on Monday.
