Köln signed Reigan Heskey from Manchester City on a permanent transfer for a little over €2 million. The traditional club has already completed the permanent signing of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey from the same club after his initial loan deal in the second half of the 2025/26 season.

Heskey’s playing style draws comparisons with Köln’s player of the season Said El Mala, who could stay at the club after he declined a mega transfer to Premier League outfit Brentford. The 18-year-old registered 18 goals and nine assists in his breakthrough season for Manchester City’s U18 team before playing regularly in the Premier League last term.

Reigan is the youngest brother of Jaden Heskey, who is also in the ranks of Manchester City. Their father, Emile, was a former England international, who scored in England’s famous 5-1 win over Germany in Munich during the qualification campaign for the 2002 World Cup.

“Reigan (Heskey) has developed excellently at Manchester City in recent years. With his qualities, he is one of the best offensive players in

his age range. René (Wagner) has shown him a clear sporting plan and taught him why Köln is exactly the right step for his further development." said the club’s managing director Thomas Kessler.

“I really wanted to go to 1. FC Köln to take the next step in my career. The conversations with those in charge have shown me that my way of playing football is very good for the club. I'm looking forward to the challenge in the Bundesliga and want to take the chance to prove myself here.” said the England U19 international in his first interview as a Köln player.
