Corinthians’ women completed their first week of work in the FIFA international break under new head coach Emily Lima. They are focusing on the derby with Palmeiras on 13 March at Arena Barueri in the third round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
According to Meu Timao, Friday began with a physical session in the gym. Lima then led a tactical workout with defensive focus and set-piece movements, followed by a video review run by the performance analysis staff.
The session had 13 absentees. Nine were on international duty in the FIFA window, Dayana Rodríguez (Venezuela), Gisela Robledo (Colombia), Lelê, Thais Ferreira, Tamires, Ana Vitória, Duda Sampaio, Gabi Zanotti and Jaqueline (Brazil). Four others remained in medical treatment, Nicole Ramos, Thais Regina, Agustina Barroso and Gi Fernandes.
This was only Lima’s third session in charge. She was unveiled on Tuesday on a two-year deal at Parque São Jorge, and has since overseen training on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Brabas now have two days off and will return on Monday to start another week of work. Next week the team will also be without Belén Aquino, who will report to the Uruguay national team.
