The Sporting Director of Empoli has confirmed that the Tuscans are working to sign Inter Milan wingback Franco Carboni.
Sporting Director Roberto Gemmi confirmed the interest in Empoli’s preseason press conference, via FCInter1908.
Inter Milan are looking for a solution for young wingback Franco Carboni this summer.
The Argentine spent last season out on loan with Venezia. This was the latest in a series of loan spells which also saw him feature for the likes of Cagliari, Ternana, and River Plate.
Venezia did not sign Carboni a permanent basis, however. They suffered relegation to Serie B, with their fate confirmed on the final day of last season.

Venezia may not be signing Franco Carboni permanently this summer.
However, that does not mean that the Argentine will not be heading to a different team who are dropping down to Serie B from the top flight after a disappointing season.
Reportedly, Empoli are keen on Carboni’s signature. The 23-year-old has emerged as a target as they look to bolster their squad and adapt to life in the second division.
And the Tuscan club’s Sporting Director Robert Gemmi confirmed that “we’re working on a deal for Carboni.”
“He’s an Inter player. And there are a lot of clubs after him.”
Then, Gemmi added that Carboni is “not our only target.”
