England boss Thomas Tuchel has made two changes to the starting XI that beat Croatia ahead of Tuesday’s meeting with Ghana at the FIFA World Cup.
The German coach has taken Nico O’Reilly and John Stones out of the lineup and replaced them with Djed Spence and Marc Guehi.
The rest of the team remains unchanged, with Noni Madueke retaining his place on the right wing while Bukayo Saka continues to nurse an Achilles problem.
Ghana have made four changes from their 1-0 win over Panama in their World Cup opener. Thomas Partey starts after being denied entry into Canada, while Kwasi Sibo, Inaki Williams and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare have also been handed starts.
England can secure progression to the knockout stage with victory over Ghana at Foxborough in Massachusetts. They will be guaranteed to finish top of Group L if Croatia beat Panama later on.
The Three Lions are unbeaten against African nations in eight World Cup meetings spanning sixty years. They have only faced Ghana once before, in a friendly that ended 1-1 back in 2011.
England starting XI: Pickford, James, Guehi, Konsa, Spence, Anderson, Rice, Madueke, Bellingham, Gordon, Kane.
Ghana starting XI: Asare, Mensah, Opoku, Jonas, Adjetey, Senaya, Sibo, Partey, Yirenkyi, Semenyo, Ayew, Williams.
