Lee Carsley hit by trio of withdrawals ahead of Wembley clash but Three Lions captain declared fit
The Three Lions captain limped off and was substituted after 72 minutes of Bayern Munich’s 3-3 Bundesliga draw with Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.
However, Kane joined up with the rest of the England squad at St George’s Park on Monday for further assessment and has been deemed fit to stay with the team.
He is expected to play some part in this week’s matches against Greece and Finland, but it remains to be seen whether interim manager Lee Carsley feels he can select the 31-year-old from the start on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, the trio of Ezri Konsa, Morgan Gibbs-White and Kobbie Mainoo all dropped out of the squad on Monday night after suffering injuries on club duty during the weekend’s Premier League matches. The Football Association (FA) confirmed in a statement that no replacements would be called up.
There is a chance of game time in an England shirt for Dominic Solanke for the first time since his only senior cap to date, back in 2017, after the striker’s strong form for Tottenham earned him a recall to the squad last week.
Carsley’s Three Lions can leapfrog current Nations League Group B2 leaders Greece into top spot if they beat the visitors at Wembley.
Predicted England XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Colwill, Lewis; Rice, Gomes; Saka, Palmer, Gordon; Kane
Injured: Mainoo, Konsa, Gibbs-White
Date and time: 7:45pm BST on Thursday October 10, 2024
Venue: Wembley Stadium
