The 20-year-old has signed her second professional contract with Spurs, after making five appearances for the senior team this season.

Araya Dennis signs new Tottenham contract

Speaking to the club’s website, Dennis said: “I’m really happy to sign my new deal. I love being a part of this group and I love the ambition of the Club as well. It’s something I want to be a part of.”

She added regarding the current squad: “They’re just really good people to be around. They make it comfortable and they make me feel in the environment, which is important for me to be able to thrive – both on and off the pitch. They’ve allowed me to do that by just being them, being good people.”

Head coach Martin Ho, meanwhile, said Tottenham were excited to support Dennis with the next step of her development.

He said: “Araya is a bright young talent with huge potential and we’re really pleased she has committed her future to the club.

“She has shown a strong desire to learn, develop and improve every day, and we believe this environment is the right place for her to continue that growth.”

Dennis can play in either forward or defensive areas

Dennis could become a huge asset for Tottenham in the coming years due to her versatility.

The player who has represented England at the U19 level can play in either forward or defensive areas.

She made her first Women’s Super League start for Tottenham in their victory against West Ham on the opening day of the season.

Dennis has made two further appearances in the WSL, as well as having two outings in the Women’s League Cup.

During her time with Tottenham, she has also had loan spells with Crystal Palace and Southampton.

Dennis facing greater competition at Tottenham

Despite possessing plenty of promise, Dennis has a fight on her hands to become a regular in the Tottenham team.

Tottenham made five signings during the January transfer window. Tottenham director Andy Rogers also revealed there are already “ongoing conversations” over summer transfers later this year,

He said: “We’ve been working on next summer for the last couple of months. We know there were potential other opportunities for us in January, but the moments weren’t quite there. We don’t want to make rash decisions.
