Enzo Fernandez has had a rocky few weeks in terms of PR, and has now apologised to the club after a two game ban was imposed.

Enzo Fernandez’s ban for two games imposed by Chelsea for his comments during the international break have divided opinion somewhat. His agent Javier Pastore came out strongly to claim the punishment was “unfair,” but today an update carried by the Evening Standard shows that things seem to have been resolved.

“We are on the same wavelength with Chelsea. We made peace yesterday and the day before between Chelsea and the player. There was never really a problem. We have cleared things up,” Pastore said.

“What happened, happened. We explained to the player that, even if he did nothing wrong, he should not have said that. He is only 25 years old. He is still young and still has things to learn. We explained to the club that he said it without any malice and that he was wrong to do so.

“He naturally apologised to the club, his team-mates, the manager, the sporting director, everyone. We are all on the same page. It was simply a matter of clearing up a misunderstanding.”

Enzo agent can’t decide if his client was right or wrong

It’s all complete waffle, of course. Whether or not you agree with the punishment, Enzo knew exactly what he was doing answering those questions, just as those asking him knew what they were doing too.

If you think he’s so naive as to not know what the implication of those answers was, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. Anyway, the important thing is that it’s behind us now, and hopefully we can all move on and start focusing on winning some games.

In other news…

With Enzo out, Liam Rosenior has a few interesting decisions to make in midfield against Man City this weekend.

Chelsea’s record losses are very worrying – but some people are trying to say it’s not as scary as it looks.
