Enzo Maresca has confirmed he expects Cole Palmer to miss England duty next month, due to his ongoing groin issue.
Palmer has had a stop start beginning to the new campaign, with a persistent groin issue since the Club World Cup causing him problems.
The England international missed games against West Ham and Fulham, whilst he had to come off after just 20 minutes against Manchester United.
Palmer was left out of the squad for the midweek win against Lincoln in the Carabao Cup as expected, but he’s set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
Maresca confirmed Palmer is set to miss the next three games and return after the international break due to his troublesome groin issue.

Palmer will now miss crucial games against Brighton, Benfica in the Champions League and the visit of defending champions Liverpool next weekend.
The 23-year-old missed England duty earlier this month, and Maresca expects that to once again be the case for the upcoming international break.
“I think so,” Maresca said as quoted by The Standard.
“If he is already out and is not going to play three games for us [then he is unlikely to go], but it is not my decision. It’s a decision for the international team.”
Palmer had looked in good form for Chelsea as he scored in back to back games against Brentford and Bayern Munich earlier this month, but the Blues will have to find a way of winning without him.
It’s not just Palmer’s absence that Chelsea have to deal with, and they are facing somewhat of a defensive injury crisis.
