Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has addressed his team's winless run in the Betway Premiership following the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hiatus.
Babina Noko commenced their second round of the 2025/26 campaign with a defeat against Stellenbosch, before a goalless draw with Orlando Pirates and a loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Thus, Sekhukhune have dropped to fifth on the log standings, having amassed 26 points from 16 league outings.
Reflecting on the team's poor run of form, with his charges yet to find the back of the net as well, Tinkler highlighted the magnitude of the opponents the Limpopo club has faced since the restart.
“Disappointed obviously. But at the same time, we played three difficult matches in a space of a week. Yes, we can say Stellenbosch are having a poor season but let's not forget they finished third last season,” he said.
"Pirates finished second, Sundowns finished first - those were the three matches we had in a space of a week. So, it was never going to be easy. But as a coach, I want to win football matches, and I've beaten Pirates before, I've beaten Sundowns before, but I haven't beaten Stellies.
"So, our purpose is always to come in and try to get maximum points out of the three matches and we didn't manage that, so obviously there's disappointment from me and there's disappointment from the players.
"But now, what's important is to bounce back, you've gotten over that run now you've got other games that are coming up that you need to try and collect maximum points from and not such high level teams if you understand what I mean.
Sekhukhune will square off against continental football aspirants TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium in their next match on Sunday.
