John van den Brom looks set to extend his stay as head coach of FC Twente. The club, who will see Erik Ten Haag join as Sporting Director in the summer, have released a statement to the club website confirming that talks are ongoing and progressing towards an extended stay for van den Brom. It is hardly surprising that the club want to keep the head coach, given that they have only lost two games so far in the Eredivisie this season. FC Twente have won four of their last five games and are just five points behind Feyenoord in second place. With plenty of time left in the season, FC Twente are certainly going to be a contender for a top two finish and the European ticket that would provide.
Van den Brom is averaging two points per game, with a 50% win rate in his first season as head coach of FC Twente. The head coach has had quite the career since taking over at ADO Den Haag in 2011. Van den Brom has gone on to coach Vitesse twice, Genk and Anderlecht in Belgium, AZ in the Netherlands and had a spell in Poland with Lech Poznan.
