Nuno Espirito Santo says that West Ham have a fully fit squad, but will be without Jean-Clair Todibo ahead of their FA Cup tie against Burton on Saturday.
Despite the good news, the West Ham boss still added that Todibo will miss the match after receiving a red card for violent conduct against Chelsea.
The Portuguese manager was asked about the squad’s fitness ahead of the tie.
“Like you said, there are still some problems that we have to assess,” he said. “We still have tomorrow, players that we need to see carefully and then decide.
“But the exception of Todibo, who is going to be out because of the red card. Everyone else is available.”
In the January transfer window West Ham lost one of their most important players in Lucas Paqueta. Nuno is still confident that his team will be “okay”, despite the loss of the Brazilian.
“The situation of Lucas that happened was something that was difficult to do,” he explained. “I think in the end, everybody looked for the better solution.
“But like you said, I insist on that, we have to realise that you can have targets, but those targets are at other clubs. It’s not only what you want, it’s what the other clubs do also. Our fans must understand that the transfer window of January is very difficult to operate in.
“It’s more about rebalancing and understanding what we need to the last matches of the season. I’m totally convinced that we’re going to be okay. I can tell to our fans, that we are positive, we are working, we are committed, we are aware of the situation and the responsibility that is on us.”
West Ham did bring in a few players in January, including new striker Pablo, Toby Castellanos, Adama Traore and Axel Disasi. The West Ham boss was asked whether he is happier with his squad now after the window.
“Yes, definitely,” he answered. “We rebalanced the squad, we have options and the players are committed.”
