ESPN in talks to hire Zico for World Cup punditry

According to Coluna Do Fla, ESPN have opened talks to hire Zico as a pundit for the World Cup.

The plan is for the Flamengo great to analyse events involving the Brazil national team, and appear on programmes and digital specials.

Discussions are at an early stage, and the broadcaster aims to finalise contract details by early March.

The 2026 World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July, across 16 host cities in Mexico, United States and Canada. It features 48 teams and 104 matches.

Flamengo now turn attention to Lanús (ARG) on Thursday 26, chasing the Recopa Sudamericana title at the Maracanã from 21:30 Brasília time. ESPN will broadcast on pay TV, with Disney+ streaming.
