Michael Carrick is hoping that both Matheus Cunha and Leny Yoro will be fit to face Brentford when Manchester United return to action for matchweek 34, according to ESPN.

Once again, the Reds will have to wait until after the rest of the league has played to build on their win over Chelsea, as kick-off for their clash with the Bees is pencilled in for yet another Monday evening at 8pm.

Cunha and Yoro should be cleared to feature vs Brentford

Still, it does give them a chance to see how their fellow Champions League-chasing rivals fare first; Chelsea saw their chances take a major hit last night when they were comfortably overturned 3-0 away to Brighton and Hove Albion.

In United’s narrow but crucial Stamford Bridge victory last weekend, Cunha, who scored the only goal of the game, was withdrawn in the closing stages after feeling some discomfort in his groin.

Meanwhile, Yoro missed the fixture entirely and did not travel with the squad down to London due to an injury he sustained in training just two days before the encounter.

Will Yoro reclaim his place next time out?

With Matthijs de Ligt sidelined and both Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez suspended, it meant Carrick had to call upon 19-year-old Ayden Heaven to start at centre-back alongside Noussair Mazraoui, the latter being a natural full-back by trade.

Remarkably, the unlikely partnership excelled, with Chelsea’s mega-money attackers unable to get a sniff at Senne Lammens’ goal throughout the contest.

As a result, it would be incredibly harsh for Heaven to lose his place on Monday just because Yoro and Maguire will be available.

Elsewhere in Carrick’s squad, Martinez has to serve the rest of his three-game ban against the Bees and then Liverpool, so he will return when United travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland on May 9.

Patrick Dorgu is still working on his recovery from the hamstring problem he suffered at the Emirates.
