Estadio Akron has become Club América’s second home

Club América visit Estadio Akron on Saturday to face Chivas in matchday six of the Clausura 2026, returning to a ground where they have often flourished.

Americayya.net notes that the venue has long felt like a second home for América, with eye-catching displays, big wins and extended unbeaten runs.

Curiously, their first outing there in the Clausura 2011 ended 3-0 to Chivas, which suggested the stadium might become a home fortress for the rivals.

The opposite happened. América strung together three consecutive victories and did not lose again at the venue until the Clausura 2017, when Guadalajara won 1-0.

Since the stadium’s inauguration, América have 10 wins, six draws and four defeats at Estadio Akron, with 25 goals scored and only 12 conceded.
