Eugen Polanski and teammates hail Kevin Stöger’s free-kick for Gladbach | OneFootball

Kevin Stöger’s superb free-kick lit up Borussia Mönchengladbach’s win over St. Pauli, drawing praise from Eugen Polanski, Nico Elvedi and Kevin Diks.

According to BuLi News, the creative midfielder marked his 200th Bundesliga appearance with his first goal of the season.

Polanski said the team had highlighted set pieces before kick-off, mainly corners or crossed free-kicks, and welcomed Stöger’s interpretation. He did not hide his surprise and stressed he was extremely happy for the midfielder.

Elvedi wore the armband with Rocco Reitz suspended. He described a strenuous, high-intensity contest and called the strike outstanding, adding the side head into the weekend in good spirits and are looking forward to next week’s derby against Köln.
