European round-up: Lens thrash Angers and overtake PSG at the top in France

Lens thrashed Angers 5-1 this Friday at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium and will sleep at the top of the French Championship. PSG, the runner-up, will play against Nice this Saturday at 5:05 PM (Brasília time) at Allianz Riviera and can reclaim the lead.

How the Game Went

Lens secured the victory in the first half. At the 13-minute mark, Sotoca received inside the box and crossed to Abdulhamid, who headed it to Thauvin to strike first and open the scoring. At 25, Thauvin intercepted a pass at the edge of the box and set up Édouard. The number 11 nutmegged Lefort and chipped it over the goalkeeper Pona.

At 39 minutes, Sangare shot from outside the box and found the net to make it 3-0. Shortly after the break, at three minutes, Thauvin set up Édouard for a one-on-one with Pona to extend the lead.

At 17, Raolisoa crossed low, and Lanroy Machine, inside the small area, scored for Angers. Ten minutes later, Sima lifted the ball into the area for Udol to score a beautiful volley goal, making it 5-1 for Lens.
