Evanilson nets brace as West Ham and Bournemouth share spoils

Bournemouth striker Evanilson bagged a brace against West Ham on Saturday to earn his side a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.

The Cherries went ahead in the 38th minute when West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola fumbled a shot, giving Evanilson the chance to tap in from close range.

Niclas Fuellkrug and Jarrod Bowen then found the net in quick succession, putting the Hammers in the driving seat with a strong second-half comeback.

But the visitors weren’t done, and they snatched a point late on when Evanilson tucked home his second after Dean Huijsen flicked on a quickly taken free-kick to the far post.

The draw saw Bournemouth move up to ninth in the table, while West Ham climbed to 15th, now safe from the relegation zone.
