Evann Guessand joins Crystal Palace on loan | OneFootball

Crystal Palace have completed the loan signing of Evann Guessand from Aston Villa.

The forward arrives at Selhurst Park until the end of the season and an option included to make the move permanent.

The Ivory Coast international only joined Villa from Nice last summer on a long-term deal but struggled to make a consistent impact, scoring two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions.

He found opportunities limited following Villa’s move for Tammy Abraham, leaving Guessand behind Abraham and Ollie Watkins in the pecking order.

Palace have moved to bolster their attacking options amid growing uncertainty over the future of Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has reportedly expressed a desire to leave the club.

The Eagles are currently 15th in the Premier League, sitting eight points above the relegation zone, and are enduring a worrying run of form.
