Everton are reportedly confident of signing Manchester City’s Jack Grealish on a permanent deal this summer.
The 30-year-old was impressive with his performances during the first half of the season after joining the Toffees on loan from City.
Grealish made eight direct goal contributions in 22 appearances across all competitions.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton are confident of retaining the forward’s services beyond the summer.
His current loan agreement includes a £50 million option to buy, but the Merseyside club want to negotiate a lower fee.
Given the player’s age and recent fitness issues, Everton believe a fee in the region of £20m would be more suitable.
Grealish joined City in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth a whopping £100m.
But he failed to justify his enormous price tag and struggled for game time under manager Pep Guardiola.
Grealish has a year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, but it remains to be seen if City would give Everton a sensational £30m discount.
The 30-year-old is a gifted forward who is highly rated for his passing and playmaking skills.
Grealish mainly featured as a left winger this season, but he is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or in a deeper, controlling role.
