Arsenal could face a pivotal decision over the future of Myles Lewis-Skelly, with major European clubs reportedly monitoring the highly rated youngster. While the club remain firm in their stance that he is not for sale, reports suggest they could consider a departure if a significant offer arrives in the upcoming transfer window.
After an impressive breakthrough campaign in 2024/25, where he made 38 appearances across all competitions, Lewis-Skelly’s progress has slowed this season. Despite his versatility and technical ability, the 19-year-old has yet to start a Premier League match, with Riccardo Calafiori currently preferred in his position.
Mikel Arteta’s summer investment in eight new signings has deepened Arsenal’s squad, but it has also intensified competition for places. With the Gunners leading the Premier League by four points ahead of Manchester City, Arteta’s focus remains on sustaining their title challenge and progressing in multiple competitions. That makes squad depth crucial, but it also leaves promising talents like Lewis-Skelly on the fringes.

According to well-sourced reports on social media, Arsenal would only entertain the idea of selling Lewis-Skelly if they received a “substantial bid.” The same sources claim several top clubs across Europe are closely tracking his situation, aware that his playing time could become a decisive factor ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett added that national team selectors are urging the youngster to seek regular first-team football to strengthen his case for international selection. “At the moment, he isn’t playing enough for Arsenal,” Dorsett said, noting that “a number of Premier League clubs” are keeping tabs on him.
While Arsenal are not actively encouraging offers, the potential for a lucrative sale could prove tempting. As an academy graduate, any transfer fee would count as pure profit on the club’s books — an appealing prospect under financial fair play considerations.
Arteta remains an admirer of Lewis-Skelly’s potential and reportedly sees him as a long-term part of Arsenal’s project. The midfielder signed a new five-year contract earlier this year, signalling the club’s intent to secure his future. However, with Calafiori and Piero Hincapié ahead of him in the pecking order, his opportunities could remain limited unless injuries or rotation open the door.
Arsenal’s schedule across four competitions — Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup — could still present minutes for the youngster. But should an ambitious club offer a major fee, the Gunners may be forced to weigh their commitment to development against immediate financial and tactical needs.
Reports from journalist Mark Brus indicate that there is “next to zero chance” of Lewis-Skelly leaving in January, despite the ongoing speculation. Arsenal’s strong position in the league and their current injury concerns make a mid-season sale unlikely. Nonetheless, as the World Cup draws nearer and interest grows, the dynamic could shift quickly.
For now, Arsenal’s message is consistent: Lewis-Skelly is a valued member of the squad, but every player’s situation can evolve in football’s unpredictable transfer landscape. With multiple suitors watching closely, his future remains one of the more intriguing subplots heading into the winter window.
