According to reports, Everton are eyeing up a move for highly-rated Norwich City defender Kellen Fisher
Norwich City are poised to face a battle to retain the services of Kellen Fisher, who is reportedly being targeted by Premier League outfit Everton ahead of a potential move away from Carrow Road before the end of the month.
As reported on Saturday evening by Football Insider, Everton are plotting a move for Fisher in a bid to prize him away from Norfolk and to David Moyes' side.
Should Everton successfully land the coveted right-back, he would become the second high-profile exit from Norwich this summer following Borja Sainz's move to Portuguese giants FC Porto last month, with the future of star striker Josh Sargent having also been the subject of intense speculation in recent times.
Now under the tutelage of ex-Bristol City head coach Liam Manning, who chose to leave the Robins after taking them to the Championship play-offs last term in favour of replacing Johannes Hoff Thorup at Norwich, the Canaries will be bidding to retain as many prized assets as possible to help their efforts of building on the previous season's disappointing 13th-placed finish and competing for a place in the top-six.
Norwich began the 2025/26 Championship campaign in less-than-ideal fashion, though, suffering a 2-1 opening day defeat at home to Alex Neil's Millwall.
As per the aforementioned report, Fisher is of interest to Everton amid their efforts to conduct a significant squad overhaul under popular boss Moyes.
It's said that the 21-year-old right-back is on Everton's radar, although there is no suggestion that interest from the Toffees is at a more advanced stage than merely interest at this moment in time.
That could soon be subject to change, however, and few at Norwich will be surprised to see Fisher earning admiring glances from the Premier League following an eye-catching breakthrough campaign last time out.
Signed from Bromley in the summer of 2023, Fisher was in and around the first-team picture during his first season with the club by making 14 appearances across all competitions. But the appointment of the since-departed Thorup last summer offered a real breakthrough opportunity to Fisher, who ended up featuring on 38 occasions in the Championship and adding four assists to his tally from right-back.
Fisher came on as a substitute for the final seven minutes of Norwich's opening-day defeat to Millwall, with experienced right-back Jack Stacey having been given the nod by Manning.
Norwich have no shortage of security over the contractual situation of Fisher, who agreed a new deal with the club less than a year ago. That contract will now keep him at Carrow Road until the summer of 2028, while Norwich also have the option to extend his terms by a further year, too.
To effectively tie Fisher down to a four-year contract was shrewd business by Norwich, and with Premier League clubs now taking an interest in the highly-rated defender's services, they will be even more relieved that they took such action on his future.
It means that Norwich hold all the cards when it comes to negotiating any deals. A move would have to be entirely on the Canaries' terms, with the club under no threat of the player running down his deal or having to reluctantly sanction an exit in order to avoid losing his talents for nothing.
