Everton striker Thierno Barry has set his sights on Leeds United, aiming to repay supporters by extending his recent scoring upturn after a challenging start to life in the Premier League.
"I played for them, and I'm very happy to score, which helps put the previous game in the past." He told Everton’s official club website.
The former France Under-21 forward joined in a reported £26 million summer move as David Moyes bolstered his attack before the first full season of his second spell. He went 14 league matches without a goal and also failed to score in Carabao Cup ties against Mansfield Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
A first goal arrived in a 3-0 home win against Nottingham Forest early last month. He then netted in a 4-2 defeat at Brentford before striking the only goal in Sunday’s impressive victory at in-form Aston Villa.
The Villa winner followed a missed spot-kick in an FA Cup third round shoot-out defeat at Sunderland a week earlier. "The last game I didn't score my penalty and I felt very bad for this because it's only the second-ever penalty I've missed in my career." Leeds visit the Hill Dickinson Stadium next Monday night.
