Everton host Liverpool at Goodison Park today, aiming to secure their third consecutive home victory and maintain their dominance in the Merseyside derby.
The Toffees have moved into a position of strength under interim boss Scott Phelan, who has overseen three wins in his first five matches. Everton boast an incredible record against their rivals.
They have won 10 previous WSL meetings—more than against any other side. They are unbeaten in eight league derbies and will look to complete a second consecutive league double over the Reds today.
Scott Phelan manages a squad that has received a massive boost from international returns and eligibility changes.
Notably, Hannah Blundell is set to reclaim her spot in defence after missing the Manchester United match. Consequently, her experience will be vital as Megan Finnigan and Rion Ishikawa remain sidelined with injuries.
Hikaru Kitagawa and Honoka Hayashi are also back from international duty and in contention to start. Inma Gabarro will lead the line, looking to build on her clinical strike against United last weekend.
Courtney Brosnan will start in goal, behind a defence likely to feature Blundell and Fernandez. In midfield, Clare Wheeler and Hayashi are expected to control the tempo. Notably, Ornella Vignola remains the danger woman.
She netted a hat-trick in the reverse fixture and will look to exploit a Liverpool defence that has historically struggled in this encounter. The Toffees will also look to their bench for impact, having seen four goal involvements from substitutes this calendar year.
Everton Women Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Brosnan; Blundell, Mace, Fernandez, Kitagawa; Wheeler, Hayashi; Momiki, Van Gool, Vignola; Gabarro
The WSL fixture takes place at Goodison Park on Saturday, 28 March 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 GMT.
