Everton vs West Ham, Premier League: Preview, Predicted Lineups and Where to Watch

Everton will host a struggling West Ham United outfit at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.

The Blues will be looking to turn things around after consecutive setbacks over the past week. They suffered a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Anfield derby before getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 loss to Wolves at Molineux.

David Moyes was guilty of making too many changes to his starting XI for the EFL Cup debacle and is expected to field his strongest team for this game to secure all three points. After winning back-to-back games against Brighton and Wolves, Everton are yet to pick up all three points since their return from the international break.

There’s hardly a better opposition to turn things around against than Moyes’s former side, West Ham United. The Hammers have sacked their manager, Graham Potter, just days before the clash at Bramley-Moore Dock, replacing him with Nuno Espirito Santo. They’re languishing in the relegation zone after picking up just three points from their first five matches.

The Toffees will be without two players for this clash. Jarrad Branthwaite, who suffered a hamstring injury at the start of the season, continues to recuperate on the sidelines and is yet to resume full training.

Meanwhile, Merlin Röhl, signed on Deadline Day, is also out injured since making his debut in the goalless draw with Aston Villa.

Everton predicted starting XI: Jordan Pickford (GK), Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Michael Keane, Vitalii Mykolenko, Idrissa Gana Gueye, James Garner, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye, Beto, Jack Grealish.

3-1 with 3 new signings scoring and Grealish setting them all up.

And Moyes roared through the tunnel as he heads home to his estate on the west coast of the Wirral.

I have an Irish Kilt, Derek - listen to this - I wanted a "Quinn" tartan but it had been a one-off for a wedding, unavailable. So, I chose a Fitzgerald because it was blue-ish, and because I can now say "Whatever Fits me, Fitzgerald"! True...that is my name...

Gerry, I should be a Macfarlane, by association, but there was far too much red in it, so I plumped for a Mackenzie! Absolutely true my mate.

We have an annual event at my (Welsh) Golf Club, called the Wise Cup, where we are invited to play for either England, Wales, Scotland or Ireland. I naturally always play for Scotland. All are encouraged to wear anything associated with the country they are representing and playing for. I usually, weather permitting, wear a kilt, Scotland football top, and a tartan Tam O'Shanter with ginger wig attached. I appreciate this is not Everton related but felt I had to share.

If anyone (Eds) says anything, my plea, by way of mitigation, would be, well Gerry Quinn started it off, take care buddy ! :-)

Hugely annoying that Nuno has come in so quickly. It will mean a very different and more defensively solid setup than Potter would put out. That said, it's still a weak West Ham side -- keep Bowen quiet and we should have enough to win this.

Agreed, Rob, that's sort of what I was alluding to in terms of 'defensively sound'.

Hopefully it'll be just enough time to confuse his new side! ;-p

Chris (14),

I think the problems of Everton are enough for most Everton fans to worry about at the moment, just let the rest of the world roll by for now.

We'll get round to them next week after Everton have beaten West Ham and Crystal Palace through the brilliant tactics of Davie boy — Hopefully!

After a seemingly good start to the season, the last 2 defeats have somewhat damaged that optimism. I'm not very confident for this game either.

We still don't have Branthwaite and we are lacking good quality full-backs which can help us have a balanced squad.
