Tottenham are preparing for a significant attacking reshuffle that could open the door for Everton to re-sign a familiar face. According to TeamTalk, Spurs are considering offers for a high-profile forward, with sources suggesting the player could become available as early as January 2026.

The North London club began the season brightly but have struggled to maintain momentum. A run of one win in five across all competitions has prompted discussions within the hierarchy about refreshing the forward line. The absence of key players such as James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski has exposed the lack of attacking balance, while the summer departure of Son Heung-min to LAFC has left a noticeable void in leadership and cutting edge.

The report adds that Tottenham “are now drawing up their own plans on how to reinvent their attack for the second half of the season.” It is understood that several forwards are being monitored, with the club’s sporting department keen to introduce more pace and productivity in the final third.
Everton are believed to be ready to capitalise should Tottenham sanction an exit. The Merseyside club are prioritising an experienced Premier League attacker, and one of the names under review is the same player they sold to Spurs for around £60 million in 2022. Sources at both clubs suggest that discussions could advance swiftly if Tottenham decide to cash in.

“Everton will get the chance to resurrect their interest in the Brazilian in January,” the article states. The Toffees’ recruitment team are said to be actively exploring multiple attacking options as they seek to strengthen before the second half of the campaign. Dominic Solanke’s ongoing recovery continues to shape their short-term transfer priorities, while other targets are being tracked by Premier League rivals.
The upcoming meeting between Everton and Tottenham is expected to provide further clarity on the situation, with both clubs’ forward lines under scrutiny.
The forward in question remains a popular figure at Everton, remembered for his energy, passion, and work rate as much as his goals. Bringing him back would not just be a tactical decision but an emotional one, restoring a connection between supporters and a player who embodied the club’s fight during difficult spells.
Financially, it would depend heavily on Spurs’ valuation. Everton’s current financial parameters under PSR make big spending unlikely without player sales or structured deals. But if Tottenham are willing to negotiate a reduced fee or loan arrangement, there will be genuine enthusiasm among fans.
From a footballing standpoint, Richarlison’s familiarity with the Premier League and his previous success in an Everton shirt make him a logical fit. The Toffees’ attack has often lacked a consistent threat since his departure. Many supporters would see this potential move as both a statement of intent and a sign that the club still values players who connect deeply with the fanbase.
A reunion might not solve everything, but it could reignite something that has long been missing in Everton’s front line: belief and bite.
