Everton travel to East Lancashire this afternoon searching for a victory to cement their top-half position.
David Moyes’ side have been depleted by injuries and international call-ups, but they will be confident facing a side they have beaten in each of their last three encounters. Despite their travel sickness against promoted sides, the Toffees have a lethal weapon in Dwight McNeil, who will be eager to impress against his former club. With the squad stretched, Moyes will rely on the experience of James Tarkowski and Michael Keane to keep things tight at the back against their old employers.
David Moyes has confirmed a significant blow with the departure of Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye to AFCON. Additionally, Jarrad Branthwaite, Seamus Coleman, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are all sidelined with hamstring issues.
However, Merlin Röhl is fully fit after his cameo against Arsenal and is expected to start, while Jack Grealish is available to provide the creative spark from the wing. Thierno Barry is expected to lead the line ahead of Beto.
Everton predicted XI: Pickford; Mykolenko, Keane, Tarkowski, O’Brien; Garner, Iroegbunam; Grealish, Alcaraz, McNeil; Barry
